Meet the researchers driving innovation at the ALI Research Group.
Computational scientist specialised in therapeutic molecular design and enzyme engineering, with expertise in multiscale modelling including molecular dynamics, quantum mechanics, hybrid QM/MM, structural biology, and machine learning. He leads a research group at the University of Liverpool developing physics-informed and data-driven approaches to tackle antimicrobial resistance and accelerate drug discovery. His work draws on experience across leading institutions including the Universities of Oxford, Edinburgh, Manchester, and Strathclyde, and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK).
We are building a group where rigorous science and bold ideas meet — if that excites you, we would love to hear from you. We welcome applications from PhD students and postdoctoral researchers eager to work at the intersection of chemistry, biology, medicine, and machine learning. No prior experience in computational chemistry is required; what matters is curiosity, drive, and a genuine interest in solving problems that matter. Funded positions will be advertised here as they become available.
If you are interested in joining the group, please contact Hafiz directly. Applications should include a cover letter outlining your research interests and a full CV.
